Donation cooperation
Zero Waste and sustainable leftover utilization are our top priority in our Cologne studio. To give something back, we donate 50% of the net proceeds from our upcycled bookmarks and 25% of the net proceeds from our fruit bowls to the German Forest Protection Association. We took a closer look at Gut Leidenhausen and the surrounding area and are taking you along.
The German Forest Protection Association is a legally recognized nature conservation association that has focused on the forest since 1947 in its volunteer work. The goal is to preserve the forest and strengthen our environmental awareness. The SDW achieves this through various actions that bring people and nature closer together. Here, children and young people are particularly in focus. In addition to the forest school and the beautiful nature, Gut Leidenhausen also features a bird of prey protection station, a wildlife enclosure, forest educational trails, a café, a museum, and many other exciting activities and events.
Tree planting has been part of the activities of the SDW for over 70 years. During the largest participatory action on Arbor Day, more than 100,000 trees are planted every year. The spectrum ranges from planting seedlings to imposing trees in cities or along avenues.
Many tree plantings are only made possible through the commitment of sponsors. The German Forest Protection Association relies on volunteers and sponsors year-round to adequately advocate for the protection of the Cologne forest. They offer a comprehensive annual program with various actions and events related to the theme of the forest.
During our visit, we gained an overview of the work of the protection association. Upon arriving at Gut Leidenhausen, you immediately feel the relaxing calm of nature. The estate, which was once a knight's seat, has been owned by the city of Cologne since 1963 and is one of the oldest testimonies of the locality of Eil and the city of Cologne. Starting on the wild bee experience trail, through the bird of prey protection station, to various open spaces where fruits, vegetables, flowers, and trees are planted. The estate and the surrounding area are ideal for a day trip to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. Mindfulness trails and the opportunity for forest bathing are also part of the diverse offerings of the SDW. We are happy to be part of this nature conservation association and to support it with our donations.
We hope to inspire you with the following photo gallery to visit Gut Leidenhausen, to feel a piece of nature, and to consider making a donation or participating in a volunteer action in the form of a company outing or similar.
