How our lights are produced
All our lamps are handcrafted in our workshop in the heart of Cologne. Each individual wood veneer strip is carefully examined, selected, and then combined with matching veneer strips.
Every lamp is unique, even if they resemble each other in shape and design. This is because the use of naturally grown woods gives each log its own vibrant grain.
You can find more information about the grains and properties of the individual wood types here.
The manufacturing process
With a lot of love
After the appropriate wood veneer strips have been selected, they are now attached to the body of the lamps. The veneer strips must be measured and cut precisely to fit perfectly around the body. Even small, inconspicuous mistakes at the beginning can lead to the lamp needing to be rebuilt. Precise work and high concentration are required at all times.
The finishing touch
With an eye for detail
As soon as a lamp is fully assembled, every detail is checked again. If the wooden lamp meets our requirements, it will be packed for you right away. Sustainability is very important to us, which is why our packaging is 100% plastic-free. Only a bit of paper for protecting the lamps, which you can gladly reuse for your next birthday or Christmas gift, is needed for shipping.
Our studio
Here your lights are created
The Gofurnit project started about 5 years ago. The founder and designer behind the lights, Manuel Döpper, designed and built the first lights at home after studying Media Design and Entrepreneurship. As the dream of having his own sustainable business came closer, he rented a small part of a carpentry workshop for Gofurnit to produce the first lights there. Now, all our lights are handcrafted in our own studio. Our products can be viewed at any time in the showroom.
